The School of Computer Science

In December 1999, pursuant to the needs of professional development and discipline construction, the Computer Science Department was constituted by combining the Computer Application Teaching and Research Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Laboratory and the Computer Center of the School. In 1985, we enrolled the first class of students majoring in "Computer Application". In 1994, we enrolled undergraduates majoring in Computer Science and Technology. In 2003, we were the first one to enroll undergraduate students majoring in "Network Engineering" in the whole province, which is also the only "Network Engineering" specialty at provincial level "Featured Specialty Construction Point", "Pilot Project for Comprehensive Reform of Specialties in Henan Province" specialty and provincial teaching team. In 2006, school of computing was established to meet the needs of our school's level and scale development. In 2018 and 2019, the undergraduate major of "Information Security, Artificial Intelligence" was newly added. In 2007, the first class of postgraduate students of Computer Application Technology were enrolled.

The school of computer science has the right to grant master's degree and associate professor's evaluation for the first level discipline of "computer science and technology" in Henan Province, and has established "Henan Province computer information system security evaluation Engineering Laboratory", "Henan Province University Internet Network Public Opinion Research Center", "Zhengzhou computer network security evaluation Key Laboratory" "Henan virtual simulation experimental teaching center of network security", "research and software development of key technologies of network security deep evaluation" of Zhengzhou science and technology innovation team, the "Electronic Archives Technology Research Institute" jointly established by Zhongyuan University of technology and China Textile and clothing education association, "big data resource management and system security assessment" university level Collaborative Innovation Center, Zhongyuan University of Technology “parallel processing technology and Application Research Center”, "Henan Province network public opinion monitoring and intelligent analysis Key Laboratory" and other discipline construction platform. It also condense four characteristic disciplines of "Information security", "data resource management", "image processing", "High performance computing", and build a strong discipline team. In addition, it has one first-class discipline master's degree (Computer Science and Technology), five undergraduate majors (Network Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Information Security, and Artificial Intelligence). "Network Engineering" specialty is a provincial characteristic specialty, a provincial teaching team and a provincial comprehensive reform pilot; “Computer Science and Technology” is a provincial priority development specialty; and "Software Engineering" is a provincial comprehensive reform pilot specialty and a school-level talent training mode innovation experimental point. The institute has six departments including computer science and technology department, network engineering department, software engineering department, information security department, artificial intelligence department and computer basic teaching department, three offices including college office, student work office and teaching management office, and a school level experimental teaching demonstration center. The laboratory area is 1260 square meters, and the value of instruments and equipment is more than 26 million yuan.

The institute has 962 students of all kinds, including 909 undergraduates and 53 postgraduates. At present, there are 80 teaching staff, including 73 full-time teachers, 5 experimental technicians, 8 public opinion R & D personnel, 5 laboratory technicians for advanced computing and code security analysis, and 3 management personnel. Among the full-time teachers, there are 5 professors and 29 associate professors. There are 1 senior laboratory technician and 9 master tutors, among which 23 have doctor's degree and 53 have master's degree. There are 1 "Henan May 1st Labor Medal", 1 " Henan Province Famous Teacher", 2 " Henan Province Excellent Teachers", 1 " Henan Province Teaching Model", 1 " Henan Province Young Backbone Teacher", 1 " Zhengzhou City Excellent Teacher", 4 "famous teachers" at college level and several "young backbone teachers" at school level.

The Institute Party Branch Committee was elected by the general meeting of the party members of the computer school of Zhongyuan University of Technology on November 21, 2016. And it is composed of seven members, including one secretary and one deputy secretary. The party now has 5 teaching and working branches, 5 student branches, and a total of 121 party members, including 51 teaching and working party members. The general Party branch of the college conscientiously implements democratic centralism, implements the system of joint responsibility between the party and the government, plays a political core role, promotes the party, government and work groups to go hand in hand, and has achieved good results in various work evaluations. In 2017, it won the honorary title of provincial level "advanced grass-roots party organization". In 2018, the second student party branch won the school level "advanced student party branch".

The institute do strengthen the ideological and political education of college students, firmly establish the concept of "education as the foundation, establish morality and cultivate people", study and follow the two characteristics and laws of students' physical and mental development and student work. The teachers take the value guidance as the starting line, ensure stability and safety as the bottom line, promote the healthy growth and development of students as the main line, and focus on the construction of study style to carry out various student work, so as to promote the comprehensive development of students. Always adhere to the guideline of improving students' comprehensive quality and professional skills, follow up service and create conditions, and actively participate in high-level professional science and technology competitions at the national and provincial levels.Insist on opening scientific and technological activity rooms and scientific research platforms to students to create conditions for students to participate in teachers' scientific research projects and scientific and technological innovation activities. In 2019, Software Class 171 won the collective title of provincial excellent class, Science of Computing 162 Zhao Sixiu, Software 171 Xu Chang won the honorary title of “three good students” at the provincial level. Network 163 Li Hairu was evaluated as an outstanding student cadre in Henan Province, and Xu Xiao and other six people won the title of outstanding graduates at the provincial level. Students continuously won gold and silver in information security and anti-technology contests, ACM undergraduate program design contests and other contests.

The institute focuses on improving the quality of teaching and comprehensively improves the quality of undergraduate education. At the end of 2019, there are 1 provincial-level fine course, 1 provincial-level fine resource sharing course, 3 provincial-level fine online open courses, 7 school-level fine courses, 4 school-level MOOCs, and 2 school-level bilingual teaching demonstration courses; 1 First Prize and 1 Second Prize for Teaching Achievement in Henan Province, 1 Second Prize and 7 Third Prizes for Teaching Achievement of China Textile Industry Association; 1 national-level planning textbook, 2 Henan Province "Twelfth Five-Year" general higher education planning textbooks, and 1 "Thirteenth Five-Year" Ministry-level planning textbook for textiles and clothing. "C/C++ Programming Course-Process Oriented Volume" and "C/C++ Programming Course-Object Oriented Volume" edited by Professor Zheng Qiusheng were approved as national planning textbooks, "Flash ActionScript 3.0 Animation Basics and Game Design" edited by Professor Zheng Qiusheng and "Software Project Management" edited by Professor Liu Fenghua were selected as teaching materials for general higher education planning in Henan Province during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", "Visual Basic.NET Programming" edited by Associate Professor Xia Minyi was selected as a textbook for the "Thirteenth Five-Year" ministry-level planning of textile and apparel. In terms of quality engineering, as of the end of 2019, there were 2 provincial excellent grassroots teaching organizations, 1 provincial excellent grassroots teaching organization, 1 provincial "teaching team", 2 provincial "professional comprehensive reform pilots", 1 provincial characteristic majors and 1 provincial priority development major; 1 school-level teaching team, 1 school-level characteristic major, 1 school-level comprehensive reform test major, 1 school-level talent training model innovation test site, 1 school-level outstanding engineer pilot major, 1 school-level experimental teaching demonstration center. Engineering education professional certification is an important measure to promote the reform of engineering education and improve the quality of engineering education. The School of Computer Science adheres to the "student-centered" concept, strengthens top-level design, further implements "output-oriented", "continuous improvement", and practices The original intention and mission of "education responsible for students". The Party and government leaders of the School of Computer Science carefully organized and actively promoted. With the joint efforts of all employees, the computer science and technology professional engineering certification has successfully passed the self-evaluation, expert inspection and other links, and has won praise from experts.

The research work of the college has been steadily improved. It has formed a scientific research direction with its own characteristics, and has done a lot of basic research and development and application work in the fields of big data and artificial intelligence, information security, graphics and image intelligent processing and high-performance computing, and has achieved many research results. The project "Research on Target Full Coverage Methods for Radio Frequency Charging Wireless Sensor Networks" hosted by Yang Changlin was approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The National Natural Science Foundation of China jointly applied by Yang Guan and foreign units, "Research on Image Segmentation Methods Based on Probabilistic Graphic Models", has been completed, with 6 software copyrights, more than 30 scientific research projects approved and 6 completed. Published 12 papers in various academic journals (6 papers included in SCI/EI). 2 prefecture-level awards. In 2019, there were more than 6.69 million yuan in research funding.

The institute has active foreign exchanges and a strong academic atmosphere. It invites Professor Yao Liang from Purdue Indiana University, Professor Shao Ling from the University of East Anglia in the UK, Dr. Long Yang from the Open Lab of Newcastle University, and Chen Qingzhang from Zhejiang University of Technology. Professor Chen Dongyi from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Director of Mobile Computing Research Center, Professor Ji Donghong of Wuhan University, Professor Lai Jianhuang of Sun Yat-Sen University have academic exchanges with teachers and students; In 2019, the Artificial Intelligence lectures on Image Graphics in China and Hongde Forum were successfully held. 2016 student Gao Xubo went to the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil for academic exchanges from February 1, 2018 to February 1, 2019; In 2017, the college enrolled Guna, the first master student from Turkmenistan. In 2018, supported by the China Scholarship Council, Pan Heng, Wu Ting, and Zhang Ruiping went to the University of Ottawa in Canada as visiting scholars for a 6-month visiting study. Zheng Binbin went to Columbia University for a 6-month visiting study, Funded by the China Scholarship Council, Yang Changlin went to the United States as a postdoc, and the big data team visited Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. Yang Guan went to the University of British Columbia in Canada for a three-month visiting study.
